A little bit about me:
My name is Jackie and I am a single mother to a beautiful 13 yr old daughter and 7 yr old son. I started a support group for single mothers in the summer of 2006 called singlemomsnyc: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/singlemomsnyc/
The support group has been such a great outlet for me. I have made such wonderful friends through the group and have realized that I am never alone as a single mom. Our support group has monthly meetings, a monthly Moms Night Out Family Dinner (both of which are in New York City) and weekly group Yahoo chats. I love knowing that there are other moms in similar situations to mine who understand what I go through. Our support group is open to single moms from all over the world...we have moms in our group from India, South Africa and all over the United States. The local moms from NYC will usually attend our support group meetings and dinners, but our moms from all over the world are very active on our group's Message Board.
This particular site is a blog for single moms to turn to in order to ask parenting questions, share ideas and vent. I, myself have been a single mother for the past 13 years and understand what you go through. Click on my profile to email me any questions you may have about single motherhood issues. All new questions will be posted to our blog daily, along with advice on your issue. Please note that I NEVER publish anyone's full names or email addresses on our postings.
